Made slowly. Made once. Made to last.

Tabitha is a Sydney based limestone sculptor
and the founder of Karv Studio.

She grew up rural, the daughter of a master
joiner. A craftsman who has spent his life building high end furniture with his
hands. Growing up beside him in the workshop gave her something no formal
education could: an instinct for craft, for material, and for the quiet
satisfaction of making something that lasts.

In Year 12 she was selected for Art Express,
a national touring exhibition representing the top one percent of HSC students
in Australia. She kept making after that, kept exploring, but never thought of
it as a path. Art was simply who she was.

Then her second child arrived. She started
making pieces for the home and sharing the process online. Things began to
sell. On a long car trip, her partner asked her a question she wasn't ready
for: if you could do anything in the world, what would it be? It took
her months to answer honestly. When she did, Karv was born.

She moved through materials like plaster,
concrete and paper mache before finding a natural Australian limestone clay
that changed everything. The moment she worked with it, something shifted. She
believes what is made from the earth brings something of the earth into a room.
A presence, a warmth, an energy that no manufactured material can replicate.
She has worked with it ever since.

Every piece is shaped entirely by hand. No
moulds. No reproductions. No two pieces alike. Her dad remains her collaborator,
the craftsman behind every hanging piece.

Tabitha is a newly married mother of two,
working from her Sydney studio. Making things that matter, slowly, by hand,
from what was almost lost.
